Cleaner Crew substrates Quiet and low-odour compared toThe cleaner crew (Alphitobius diaperinus, the lesser mealworm beetle) is colony maintenance you don't have to do yourself. Added to a roach colony, these small beetles and their larvae work through dropped food, frass build up and crucially dead roaches before they can rot, keeping the bin dramatically cleaner and healthier between deep cleans. Why breeders use them Consume dead feeders and food scraps that would otherwise grow mould or attract mites
