Mick McMahon sold A bit of a wild

A bit of a wild card but a powerful painting

I think originally I felt I’d just discover it was by a celebrated court artist of the day and pay off my mortgage but it’s clearly not as easy as Philip Mould makes it look

This painting is currently displayed on our stand

Sheffer’s work is presumably an illustration intended for publication in a mainstream magazine

Mick McMahon sold A bit of a wild"When I first started reading 2000 AD comics, in the 1980s, my favourite character by far was the Celtic warrior, Sline and my favourite artist to draw him was Mick. His ink illustrations seemed to be carved out of stone and there was a tremendous strength and gravity to it all. To me, his work on the Sline story Sky Chariots is one of the most beautiful and astonishing comic works ever committed to paper."
