The artist Karin van Leyden had an extraordinary life

Precipice Black & White direct gazePrecipice, n. a headlong fall or rush, a sheer drop Precipice explores the fraught connection between two people on the brink of the unknown. Above them, the potential of flight; behind them, oblivion. In this precarious moment they cling together with fragile grip; the high key and subdued colouration of the painting enhance the feeling of height, adrenaline and thin air.
