Old Map of South America, 1839 by Arrowsmith - Brazil, Galapagos, Islands, Colonial Guyana, Andes, Amazon, Ecuador Size:48x60in (120x150cm) In the bottom left cornerA gorgeous map of South America, originally published in 1839 by probably the most sought after mapmaker of the mid 19th century, John Arrowsmith. You can see the Andes mountains on the left side of the continent, the longest continental mountain range at 5,500 miles long! There are also the Galapagos Islands on the map, an archipelago of volcanic islands, which is actually a province of Ecuador and where Darwin developed his theory of evolution.
