(1992) Martucci: Chamber Music for Piano & Strings Bruno Pratico 102 date from 1815Giuseppe Martucci was perhaps the most significant representative of Italian instrumental music during the second half of the 19th century. As an artist he masterfully fulfilled both typically nineteenth century roles of impassioned interpreter and inspired composer. His mature works assumed a more reflective, contemplative style which united romantic sonorities with Parnassian elegance. This formal discipline also characterized his chamber music.
