豊田市美術館で開催された4人の作家による展覧会、「吹けば風」のカタログ。展覧会タイトルは、明治生まれの詩人・高橋元吉が詠んだ詩の一節「咲いたら花だった　吹いたら風だった」に由来する。認知する以前の、得体の知れないものや感覚を肯定するかのような大らかな心構えのこの詩から始まる「吹けば風」は、通常は見過ごされ、忘れ去られてしまうようなささやかな経験、ほんの僅かな間だけ意識にとどまる小さな発見に着目し、その体験を見つめなおす。日常や旅先での体験を通じて、なにかを感じとるときに生じる変化や差異に鋭敏に反応しながら、それらを観察し、見る人の認知や感覚を研ぎ澄まさせる4人の作家の作品から、本展は世界をあらためて新鮮な感性でまなざそうとするものである。
